This is my favorite hair to date, it's casual and elegant at the same time. Plus, it is very easy to accomplish.
Here's what you need:
- Sunsilk Waves of Envy (optional) or any spray you can apply to wet hair to make it wavier
- Heat Protectant (any brand)
- 1" or 1.5" inch curling iron
- Hair Clip(s)
- Hair Spray
- Hair Serum (like Biosilk's silk therapy)
- Patience
Another great thing about this look is that if you get bored of it, you can wear it half up and half down. Maybe braid a couple of strands of your hair. If you like halo hairdos, take two strands from either side of your hair and pinning them together at the back of your head with either bobby pins or a pretty clip. Wavy hair like this also makes messy up-dos a breeze. Try putting your hair in a messy bun and leave some wavy strands out to enhance the effortless look.

I would definitely categorize this as a winter tut, just because it was actually filmed in late February or early March (which is still winter for us Canucks). Side note: I wouldn't suggest putting in the Biosilk (or any serum) before flat ironing, I put it in as soon as I finish blow drying out of bad habit. It is best to leave it for last to decrease the amount of hair damage.

I adore fish tail braids/plaits in particular, but do try a classic side braid. There are also milk-maid braids as seen in Oscar de La Renta, which are amazing for those hot days when you need a break from long hair. Alternatives to this include the rope braid and twists. This season Mui Mui took it to extreme lengths, kind of gross. (random, Alexander Wang, Dsquared, Mui Mui s/s 2010.)
40's waves, old Hollywood, Veronica Lake or whatever you like to call it. I suggest saving this for a romantic night on the town with someone beloved. This dates back to last season but it's such a wearable classic, that we just couldn't let go of it. (Christian Dior s/s 2010)
Chignon & Up-do's - sleek or messy high buns and twisted or tousled chignon, take your pick. Messy up-do's are the most wearable and easiest of all, this is also true with the braid trend. This season Fendi experimented with deformed and loosened topknots. Add glamor to your bun or chignon with accessories or embellishments to your liking. (Lanvin, Zac Posen, Fendi, Narciso Rodriguez s/s 2010) Also, check out Carolina Herrera and Chanel.
Boho 70's, either slicky straight with curled ends or wavy long locks. Either way, the look should speak volumes. (Anna Sui & s/s 2010)
Tousled beach waves seen at Chloe. No summer is complete without beach hair, this is a total no brainer.
Gucci and 3.1 Phillip Lim had hair slicked back with a side part, which I thought were OK. There were also slicked back trends that I didn't like from MaxMara & Hussein Chalayan that looked greasy, wet at the root and dry at the ends. Something about it was not refreshing to me. What do you think?

The Eyes: video upon request
An easy to accomplish look and an essential for any season, particularly summer. This is a dimensional look accomplished by primarily using the "Baked" pallet by Urban Decay. The look goes from brown to deep gold to light gold (easily seen if you click the last picture above as well).
L'Oreal Vive Pro Conditioning Treatment
This is an inexpensive conditioning that actually works. It relaxes the frizz in your hair which makes it perfect to use before straightening your hair. It smells great and helps add softness and shine to my hair. This is a great alternative to Joico's K-Pak which I also use religiously & smells 10 times better, if that's even possible.
Rene Furterer Karite
Pricey, but this wash out conditioner smells botanically amazing. Karite works wonders with dry hair and scalp. It's more of a deep conditioning to help keep hair from tangling. A big plus is that the formula has no sulfates, triclosan, phthalates or petro-chemicals.
Biosilk Silk Therapy
This is a leave in conditioner and reconstructing treatment. It helps eliminate frizz and creating shine by filling out voids in hair cuticles that was caused by damage. It protects my hair from heat, cold and pollution at the same time as making my hair appear healthier.
Chi Straight Guard
Loose braids whether they be french or not are a great alternative hair style this season and any other season as a mater of fact. It's easier than a perfect tight french braid and has a more "effortless chic" feel to it. You can rock a loose braid in almost any occasion and make it evening appropriate with minimal efforts, just add the right accessories. This do works especially well with vintage clothing too.

Preperation:
- L'oreal vive pro shampoo and conditioner - L'oreal vive pro conditioning treatment or Rene Furterer karite - Herbal Essences leave-in split end protection for long hair
Styling:
- Sunsilk waves of envy to achieve waves and some body
- Herbal Essences hairspray fixatif to preserve curls
Utensils:
- Conair Infinity 1 1/2 inch curling iron
- Hair clips
Instructions: - wash hair with shampoo and conditioner - use a leave in conditioning treatement (follow instructions according to product packaging)
- apply split end protection to the tips of hair
- spray wave enhancing product into hair evenly (do not use close to roots) and scrunch hair in sections, (always read instructions) or skip this step all together
- let hair air dry or use a hair dryer with a defuser on a low head setting while scrunching hair in sections. Let your hair rest before moving on to the next step if you choose to blow dry.

Regardless of whether you use salon brands, drugstore brands, or "natural" brands - most shampoos are made with a slightly different variation of the same handful of ingredients.
